Sammy Broussard's father established the owner/operator lease concept in oilfield trucking in the 1960's when he was a state senator. At the time he also owned a truck dealership and trucking company. Sammy began working for the dealership in the late 1970's and then took over the trucking company in 1987. He brought the company through the rough times following the 1980's downturn and continues to operate Broussard Trucking.
