Bill Bailey began his career working at Humble Oil Company. He left and went to McDermott in 1956 to open the company's fabrication yard. He helped build and launch the first platform that was constructed on land and then hauled by barge to a location in the Gulf of Mexico. He stayed with McDermott until his retirement in 1973.
